102 trap w/ only exhaust. Magnaflow exhaust??

where've you been? Haven't seen you at the track lately. I'll be out of town for a week starting wednesday, but I'll be back at OSW on 3/10/03. Maybe I'll see if I can use John's tires and see what I can do with some traction.

a)when they replaced the axle, they put a used one in it and it has bad bearings, because it makes a terrible wah wah sound from like 30-50mph. i want to get it fixed before i race again.

b) i dont have a job right now, and i cant afford to pay 15 dollars to go run on my stock tires and definitly not beat my drag radial time.

c) if i get a job soon. which i hope i will, i will completely redo my rear end, buy some slicks and come out, this street tire racing sh&&t, blows.
itll probably be around october before i race again tho.

You have 3 important things in your favor to getting such a good trap speed.

1) It is Feb and the air is very good. I would bet that the DA for that day was around sea level. I used to go to the Atlanta Dragway when I was at Clemson Univ. I never trapped better then about 100.xx mph with around a 13.7 time. I moved to Gainesville, FL and my first time out at the track here I went 13.27 @ 102.xx (it is in sig). The major difference was that the track here is only 160' in elevation verses the 1100' at the Atlanta Dragway, and that the temp was about 40 degrees. That gave me a Density Altitude (DA) of about -1000' or so. When I used to run at the Atlanta Dragway the DA was more like 1500' or 2000'. As you can see that gained me about 2 mph in the 1/4. The much better time came from the increased power and a significantly better 60' time then I had before. My only real mods where magnaflow catback, MAC prochamber, and some underdrive pulleys.

2) Spinning your tires seems to increase you trap speed. I am not sure why, but it always seems to do this.

Going again either this saturday or next saturday. What would you think would be the best for traction and practicality- BFG radials or slicks?? I have stock drivetrain and 3.27's, but have 4.10s laying around going to be installed soon and don't want to do anything twice. Thanks

you can easily break stuff, esp with bfgs or slicks,... i broke my axle on nittos. my only advice is to only do this, if you have the money to fix or upgrade whatever you break.
