A friend of mine owns a 99GT. When he supercharged his car, the speed shop installed a Cobra clutch in his car. I thought the Cobras has an 11" clutch. That lead me to think about installing an 11" in my 00GT with a T45 5-speed. If the Cobra clutch went into his 99GT and it was truly an 11" clutch, then can I put an 11" clutch in my 00GT? I know the 96-98 Cobras can replace their 10.5" clutch with an 11" clutch via the FRPP kit 397-M-7060-C46.

Can I replace my 10.5" clutch kit/flywheel in my 00GT with an 11" clutch kit? Will the bell housing on the T45 transmission accommodate the 11" setup?

The 99 and 2000 GTs both have the T45 and 8 bolt flywheel (for all "windsor" engines), if it fit in his I dont see why it wouldnt fit in yours. However in 2001, they went to the TR3650 and back to 6bolt flywheels, so it may not fit 01+.

Nice, here comes an 11" 8-bolt flywheel and 11" clutch kit. Now to decide which brand to go with.

I went with the FRPP 11" cobra upgrade clutch kit (8 bolt flywheel), (Not an 03/04 kit). The clutch was an upgrade kit for 99/01 I believe. Got the flywheel, clutch, plate, and TOB for about $160 I believe.

Find me a link BCB00GT! How can you beat that deal!

A billet steel flywheel is $250 alone. I know the FRPP flywheel is not billet, but how can you beat that price for all new upgraded components...

The cheapest I can find is around $200. Part number is M-7060-C46. Let's find this puppy. Comes with 11" flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, and bearing. That is a cheap and worthwhile upgrade if you have an 8-bolt flywheel.

DO you have a t-45 or t-3650 in your 2001??

The GT's with a t-3650 already come with an 11" clutch and flywheel setup OEM.

1/2" bigger, slightly more friction material, slightly more grip.

I wouldn't necessarily call it an upgrade though. I know plenty of CObra owners and 01+ GT owners who have smoked their 11" OEM clutch.

Now an 11" performance flywheel and clutch is a different story.

It was my local SVT dealer and it was $189. I had found it online for $160ish + shipping. Got it local. It's been over a year now.

I felt an 11" SPEC Stage 3+ and it grabbed awesome and had a soft pedal. Nothing like the SPEC 10.5" crapola.

I think clutch performance and feel has more to do with the actual brand and type of clutch you buy...and less to do with the diameter.

That this true in some cases, but Spec has completely different designs for their 10.5" and 11" clutch setups. They made that very clear to me. They are able to make a softer pedal clutch on their 11" kits...
