* 11 year old Plugs!!----You Dope!

I bought my 93 lx this past Sept. It only had 18,900 miles on it.(All original had it checked out) Well, I just turned 30,000 on it and thought it was time to change the plugs.I took them out,didnt look to bad,a little whitish.I put the new ones in,and couldnt believe the difference.Started faster "Revved" so much easier,and actaully felt a little faster! After drinking a beer and thinking about it, it dawned on me.Its a 1993,those were the "original spark plugs"!!!That should have been the first thing I changed when I bought the car.I heard a little voice in my head say YOU DOPE!!

It's amazing what a good set of plugs will do. Pretty amazing you have an all origional car. How much does something like that cost?

I bought my '87 GT in 1997, with 70,000 miles on it, and it had the original 1987 spark plugs and wires on it!

When my brother got his '77 F-150, I put new plugs and wires on it for him. The plugs looked at LEAST 10 years old, the electrodes were almost gone and the porcelain on the end of the plug was crumbled and missing. The wires looked really old too. He bought it from a guy that didn't drive it a whole lot, I was curious as to how old those things really were.

I changed everything on my LX whaen I bought it last year.

Oil, trans, rear and all sensors, body seals, door locks, brakes.

Just want no problems !!

Thats why Im excited to put mods on it,Its pretty much a brand new car!

My 93 had the original wires and stuff in it when i bought it. 100,000 miles.

yeah u should do an entire tune-up/normal maintenance when u buy a car not matter what the owner said it had done, unless he had reciepts with the dates....

And Willys, what he meant by sensors was most likely O2 sensors, set teh tps or get a new one, and stuff like that.

Not good to brag about old plugs/wires just means your car was neglected. And anyway its mileage that kills them, not age.

Nah,Im working on that! Its your every day white LX with silver pony wheels,but its straight as an arrow.Not one ding,or scratch.(we'll see how long that lasts!)When I get my 17 inch cobras I'LL put up some pics!!

Bought an engine out of a 68 Chrysler New Yorker for my Challenger project car. Had about 75K on the motor. Put in the Challenger with the plugs and wire that came with it still on it and started it up. In a dark garage you could see the spark pulse travel the wire because of the cracks and stuff.

Upon further checking they were the original plugs and wires. Nice maintenance.
