Hi guys I’m fixing to buy some heads for my 92gt. I keep seeing great feedback about the 11r 199cc heads. Just wanted to make sure I won’t have any issues with ptv clearance on my stock bottom end 92gt. Car has a small cam that I believe is a e cam.

The odds of a 11r head having ptv issues on a stock piston are pretty slim. It’s always a good idea to check, but you should be fine with an e cam.

Bigger cams than that have been done with stock bottom ends and 11r combos

Reason I ask is because the 190cc version has a 2.05” intake valve vs the 170 having a 2.02 sized intake valve. I’ve used 5-6 170cc ones on stock bottom ends over the years and they all cleared great. I just noticed the 190cc has larger valves so wanted to ask.

I just called trickflow and was told it will have the same ptv clearance as the 170s. Looks like 11r 190s for me than lol.

I would think you would be fine but if your assembling the engine why not measure ?

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

When you say 170s, I think you may be referring to the older TW 170s which is not the same as the 11R 170 heads. The 11R 170 and 11R 190 would be about the same for PTV clearance, but a TW 170 head would not. The 11R heads do have better PTV clearance due to the valve angle.

You will be fine. I have stock bottoms end in my 91, I have an old F cam, and installer TF 11r190s with TF 1.6s and push rods and clearance was fine.

Sounds good. Did you use the 7.050 length pushrods I see trickflow has in their 11r too end kit?

Very true. I called trickflow and was told I will have plenty of clearance. Going to get a custom cam by fall but wanted to use what was already in the engine for now.

Does anyone know what length push rods will work with 11r heads , 1.6 rockers and a E303 cam?

Trickflow told me 7.05” for the 11r heads. That’s what I used a couple months ago on my 11r 190s.
