PI convertors are the best from everything i've heard. i do not have any experience with them tho. you'll have to drain/drop the tranny. call Precision Industries with your questions. they'll be able to answer your questions better than anyone here.

What other mods do you have done to this automatic car ?

Precision Industries is about the best available for the 4r70w automatic. I have one with a 3000 stall and I love mine. For a power adder, I'de go no less than 3500 if you're serious about it.

Talk to Jimfitzgerald and RacerGT about a torque converter with a power adder. Jim is running a 4200 or 4300 stall I believe with his supercharger and I believe Jason(RacerGT) is running a 3500 stall in his car. He used to run spray but I'm not sure if he does now or not though. I know he went 13.039 without the bottle and only a few bolt ons + the torque converter.

i just updated my sig with all my mods, i think. I want a converter bad, i know with that i can hit 12's N/A, and hight to mid 11's with 100 shot. Where should i order the PI converter from? O and about a higher stall, i spin a little for about 15ft with spray so i dont know how well i will hook up. I think i need slicks. my nittos had 10 psi in them and i did a massive burnout.

I just got a glance at your modifications and two things I see you are lacking is a shift kit and most importantly, a transmission cooler. If you do not have a transmission cooler, you need to get one asap as heat is the number one killer of automatic transmissions. I have one from Steeda and it works pretty good. Most guys are now using the new units from B&M that have their own fan mounted to them for extra cooling. As for the shift kit, I recommend the Jerry mod shift kit. Info. on this can be obtained at www.tccoa.com under their tech articles for the 4r70w automatic transmission.

As for where to get the torque converter, I highly recommend Houston Performance. I got mine from them for 714 shipped. That was about a year ago. The price may have gone up some but I'm not sure. You'll have to call them to find out as I do not believe they have torque converters listed on their web site. You will probably also need to get a new chip program from SCT for the torque converter so it locks up correctly and to correct and potential shift problems caused by a change in line pressure with the new converter.

If you have traction problems now off the line, they're going to get worse with a higher stall torque converter. Yes, you will need slicks. I just got me a set of ET drags mounted to a set of 15in. Weld Draglites just for track use. Probably what you should do to.

I think a new program for the new torque converter would be a good idea. A flash is always best as then you don't need a chip. As for the shift kit, I still recommend it. The Jerry mod shift kit is basically free since you use your stock valve body and accumulator pistons. All you need are a few gaskets, some new fluid, and a couple of springs to do it. You could always buy a new valve body as well so then you don't have to drill your stock valve body's seperator plate.

As for what I run in the 1/4, I don't know yet but I'll know soon enough. I've been waiting on my slicks and they should be in the mail.....well, in a UPS truck and on their way to me.

PI converters are definately the best around...

I have a 3000 stall in my and have pulled off a handful of 12.7s at 109 N/A.

I'm gonna upgrade to a 4200 stall and hopefully get deeper in the 12s soon.
