12pt Roll Cage Pictures

So im looking at roll cages to put in my car over the winter months coming up. I was looking at the prebent cages that summit sells and I like the idea of the 12 point cages to get a little more rigidity in the car but was curious where the front bars attach.

This is the cage that im talking about. I know that the picture is just a representation and not the actual cage but does anyone have pictures of this cage or a similar 12pt cage showing where the front bars go? I found a picture somewhere where someone had their cage welded to the strut towers but i dont think thats how this one works. Do the front bars pass the strut towers and get welded to the front part of what i guess you would call the frame? Im also curious on the fitment of the cage itself. Is it pretty tight to the interior of the car? I know it wont be as tight as a custom cage could be, but for the price and time savings i feel like it would probably be worth it.

Just curious to see if anyone has used one of these cages or seen one in someones car.

Just wondering what you're planning on doing with the car?

A 12 point cage is getting pretty serious. I can't speak to that particular cage as to how the fitment it, but here are a couple picks of how a 12 point is typically done. Personally, unless I was building an all out <8.50second drag car, I'd stick to a 10 point and run extra support bars from the door uprights, through the firewall, to the inside of each shock tower.

This picture just shows how the bars run (this is wild ride's kit). These get put through the firewall.

Check out S&W racecars. I ordered a 10 point cage from them and was very pleased. Go to the website click on the catalog and swipe through it. They sell anything you need....and can make anything you think of. Inexpensive and quick. Summit has free shipping on cafes ( I think ). I just like dealing with the source...no middle man. It's another 150 to ship.

The plan is to go all out drag car with it. Im shooting for 1500hp, obviously not out of the vortech supercharged 302 thats in the car now. Still not completely sure what motor, trans and turbo im going with yet but i want to get the fabrication work started on the car as soon as possible so when i make my mind up i can have the car ready to go.

I figure that if im pulling the interior to do a cage i might as well do it right the first time. The only problem i have with the 12 point is where the front bars attach. If they attach like the photos you attached i think im probably better off ordering a 10pt as i plan on doing the RMS tube front end kit at the same time.
I guess id be looking at doing something more like this with my cage. It looks like id probably be a lot better off not ordering the RMS kit and just getting a 10pt cage since i would be making my own front bars anyways. I know whatever forum i saved this picture from was saying that it makes you unable to race in some certain classes but i dont think it would for any of the stuff that im looking at. This past year i did a few of the True Street events and want to do more of those this coming year along with stuff like the outlaw 10.5 and x275 stuff. As far as i can tell going by the rule books for all of these classes it doesnt look like this type of front end would really matter since its not altering the wheelbase.

I have looked at some of their stuff in the past and it would probably be a good idea to call around and try to get rid of the middle man like you said.

I agree with calling around to see what you can get, there are quite a few places that make nice cage kits for those cars. S&W as @90sickfox said, Wild Rides, Team Z, ect. Most of those places should be able to custom bend those front bars for you depending on what you decide to do to the front end.

10 pt will cert to 8.50 .

After that you may as well just go 25.5 off the bat if you plan on going faster . Buying a pre done kit I’d either buy the team z , wild rides , or wolf . Wolf being my first choice
