I have about $1400 to spend, it can a be a little more if needed. I am looking to make more power (of course). I thought about going with a NX wet kit and diablo chip but I am still not sure. I have been to the track a few times and I am hooked so something that would benefit me there would be good.

My car is also not driven daily

My mods are in my sig so let me know waht you think

Thanks in advance

I am definetly not making the power required to build up rear yet. As for the tires I have new tires on the rear so once those are gone I planned on getting Nitto Dr's and a set of 17 x 10.5 rims to go with it.

Trust me, if you want to make a regular thing of track outings, go ahe3ad and build up the rear now. Get some gear too, 3.73s are teh lose if you want to drag race.

Like Stngstr said go with the welds and rear end instead of the cams. It will be a lot more fulfilling at the strip.

I have to agree with Jackie and StngStr. If your not planning on a supercharger throw some 4:10's in the back also

wouldnt more suspension work in the rear benefit more in track times? I know safety is important in the rearend but I hear guys running low 12s on the stock rears for years and I am no where close to running in the 12s.

As far as being no where close to 12's...look at my mods, and you are a good 170+lbs less than me going down the track and should be making more power.

Ok point taken. But you did say you had 100 passes on stickys. I have none and dont plan on it until my current street tires are no more. But when I get stickys I will definetly getting a built rear becuase of your experience. There is probably no worse feeling than be towed home from the track.

skip the drag radials...et streets or sportsman pros at the very least. Why pay all that money for track tires and give up .1+ in the 60'??

There have been plenty of guys that have sort of pioneered what works on our cars to make them go down the 1/4 the quickest. Just observe what they have and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
