1500 RPM Miss

Gentlemen, quick question. 2002 gt auto. At about 1,500 revs (50 mph) i get a constant hesitation/miss. Have new Iac, clean the entire intake system periodically, mass af sensor, plugs have about 15K. Irritating, because driving in the houston area requires that speed a lot.

Also notice that engine barely catches with a hot start. Long cranking time and then catches about 300-400 revs. Don't know if they are related or not.

Only does it at this rev range. Could be a COP. How would you test that?

I'm having the same problem with a 2001 GT Auto I also picked up a new (Ford) IAC and EGR and others but have not put them in yet it snowing outside

Watching this thread. I have been experiencing very similar symptoms on my 98GT. And I only have 42k on mine!

Well maybe someone will figure it out. Always runs lumpy when the auto catches top gear at about 1000 revs. Wish it were programmed a little higher. The 1500 revs is new and irritating.

Well my problem was the COP on the number 5 cylinder. Always to much work never any free time so I took the car to my local gas station with my trunk full of spare parts. He hooked it up to the computer and found weak COP on the 5th spark. So on went a set of eight new Accel super coils #140032-8 at 41,000 miles it runs like a champ.....Brian

Glad to hear you solved the problem. Just watch those Accels, they don't have the best reputation.

Also, my issue was quite different. My miss was a finger follower that fell out of place. Popped the valve cover and replaced, good as new now.
