157 or 164 tooth flywheel

other than the obvious, what is the difference in the two. will a 164 tooth fit on my '95? Is the 164 tooth ring thinner than the 157? Thank

The difference is in the diameter. To allow for an extra 7 teeth and maintain the same pitch the diameter has to be made larger. This then also means you need to have the starter spaced out properly and have a bellhousing large enough to fit the larger flywheel.

Now, are you sure you're talking about flywheels or flexplates?
