160 Thermastat

Hello all. Where would I find a 160 degree thermastat for a 02 GT.

If I remember correctly, 160* was too "cold" and not high enough to get the engine up to proper operating temperature. 180* is your best bet.

It's been a long time since I've seen this question so I may be wrong....

he's running 12lbs of boost, running colder will help prevent detonation.

By doing a google search, I pulled up a few places selling a Hypertech 160* T-stat.

Thanks for the help. I'm running a 180 now and with the turbo everything runs a little hotter. I found the hypertech at summit also. Thanks again.

Didn't even think of Summit. Sounds like a nice setup you have there... any track times?

Run the 180 if it is running too hot then install a better radiator but stay with the 180deg stat

Ya, keep the 180. Change your plugs to the next cooler temp range.

the way the stock EEC strategy works 180 is about as cold as you can go.. If you change the closed loop parameters then you can go colder.
