18 inch Saleens on a Fox....2 questions

I'm thinking about putting my car back to stock hieght and adding some white Saleen wheels. What size tires can I run (no quad shocks). My second question is do I have to do the full 5 lug conversion (with respect to the center caps fitting) or can I get away with just the 5 lug rotors up front.

BTW, any pics of LX hatches with Saleens?

Go to www.50resto.com and order the 5 lug conversion kit that is like $399.99 and its got everything you need. Although yes you won't be able to get your center caps on, and yes the small rotors and ugly ass drums will show through! Specially with those big rims! I personally wouldn't put those on unless you pony up for 4 wheel disc brakes. And also i'd lower it, 18's with stock height looks out of place....

Look at mine..... Now imagine them with a nice old black drum showing through.

Those are 13's up front and they look perfect, but i am tempted to do a saleen 14 inch rotor up front and 13's out back.

Don't sweat the drum thing, i had it that way for years, nobody notices as long as you don't paint the drums.
I also ran saleen rims for years on 5 lug lincoln rotors in the front.
Now i have bullit discs and cobra rears, but it wasn't really a necessity.

Whether or not your dust cap hits the center cap, may be up to what offset you use.

i have dsl and the pics pop up right away. I took them from the photo bucket. I think its your internet that makes them pop up slow buddy....

I am about to do a 5 lug conv. with Lincoln rotors in the front and I am planning on using saleen 18s as well. I have an Eibach pro-kit so I will post when I get it done.

That is why i said "temperarily", it was probably a photobucket issue.
And it was not my internet connection, i keep track of it.
Besides, of course they will load extremly fast on your computer, they are your pics, and have been loaded before.

That is a sweet car. Did the centercaps fit with just the rotor swap? What springs/strut/shock combo are you running and finally, how does it ride? Mine is dropped but I'm not sure how much because I bought it that way. I don't even know what springs are in it? All I know is that it rides like s@#t!

center caps fit, but flattening the dust cap, but remember, i have real 95 saleen rims, not the newer style that most people have. Plus i have the back rims on the front, and the fronts on the back (same width).
Saleen springs, koni adj in front, 12 way qa1s in the back. Rides decent now.
Key to the ride is using energy suspension isolators on all 4 springs, makes a world of difference.

im doing the same thing and considered the "cheap" 5 lug conversion..its not the way to go.. get it out of your hair and just do the 4 disk conversion. Its worth it. On top of upgrading the performance of your brakes greatly, your all so building a good foundation for a fast car..

The cheap way works if you don't have enough to shell out a ton for brakes and rims all at once, since when going to 5 lug you need both of them.
So $250 for 5 lug parts compared to $1000, is quite the savings.

And i know from having it both ways, the brakes do feel more solid with the better brakes, but tests have proved that for the first stop, there is only a few feet of stopping distance difference. It's the hard stops after the brakes are hot that make the difference.

So IMO, do it whatever way your budget permits.

So if I pound the dust caps flat, the center caps will fit? My original plan was a set of 99 Cobras. I think both look bad ass but I didn't want to spen 1000 bucks on a conversion just so I could spend another 1200 + on rims and tires
