I am doing a 5 lug conversion on my 89 gt and was wondering if a 18x8 in the front and 18x9 in the rear is possible. Would i be able to lower the car at all?

shouldn't be a problem... tire size will be key... 245/40/18 on the front and 275/35/18 out back should work out well with a 1 1/2" drop

I dropped mine with Eibachs. about 1 1/2 in front and about 1 and a 1/4 in rear. I had 18x8 on 235 40 18 and 275 35 18 in the rear on a 18x9 with a little rubbing when I hit a bump in the rear but I had a full tank of gas. I never put anybody in the rear though.....it would move back there.....I bet I could have did a 245 45 or a 255 45 in the front without rubbing.

I'm running 235/40 on 18x8 and 275/35 on 18x9. Dropped about 1.5" with Saleen springs. No rubbing.

Good Luck!

I put 18-9 and 18-10 on my 86 after a aroespace rotor kit up front and a 99 irs from a cobra out rear and they fit great. I had to do the regular lip service on the back. 245 40 18 up front and 285 35 18 out rear. I didnt run quad shocks though because they are not at all envolved with the irs.
