Hello, I am thinking of replacing the stock 14" wheels on on my 1965 mustang with the optional style steel wheels that were available in 1965. I believe they were called 55 series style steel wheels. I am not sure of the size that will fit. Should they be 15" or 16"? Also, there seems to be different manufacturers that call their wheels style steel wheel. I don't know which wheel is the correct one that was available in 1965. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Look at National parts depot, they sell them and have pictures, as do others. 65 was a all chrome rim, and red center cap. 66 and 67 had trim rings with just a chrome center. You can get them in 14" x 7" and 15" x 7", stock was 14" x 5.5" wide. Go with the 15" as there are few 14" tire choices now or magnum 500's or
