I have an opportunity to purchase a 1966 convertible GT, 4speed car.(dark green / black top)
I will be reselling it but not to sure on the current value.
The car is intact, with a nice top, most everything is in good condition but may need a little TLC here and there.

anay ideas?

Condition, condition, condition? Options? True GT? Lots of questions before a guess.

Thats probably a good deal. A true GT, 4 speed convertible, (C, A, or K Code engine? - this matters), in #2+/1- condition would auction for mid 20s, even low 30s if it is really pristine and has good options. True K code would be high but I'm not sure of the auction premium. Also may have improved value if it can be shown to have been owned in dry Western States.

If what you say is true, and it is a A code / K code car...offer the 18k and an exotic dancer for a night [sorry...TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE...I repent...but: BUY IT!!!]

If it is a solid car that doesn't need too much 18 wouldn't be too much. If it is a K code better grab it before the seller figures out what he has.

Let me know when you re-sell it. I would like to get a convertible GT with A/C.

FWIW - If it's a C code than it is not a real GT - GT's were (mostly) A codes and (rarely) K codes.

whats the best way to varify that its a true GT

What I know so far:
Fog lights
fender emblems
dual exhaust (through rear valance)
It is a hub cap car (no steel wheels)

Can I look in the VIN # for certain codes?
I plan on going to see it tomarrow
