I used epasperformance.com, the weblink is below. I have to do some final adjustment (rotate) to which side of the column I want the unit to be on, but for now I have it to the left.

I wanted to get away from the power steering hoses and pump - some for HP but mostly because the hydraulic setup usually ends up leaking and the hoses are a pain to fit up and route.

This system is not supposed to pull very many amps so you don't have to change the alternator. I am also going to run LED tail lights, head lights and interior lights to further reduce amperage draw.

So this summer was a busy one at work and I did not get a lot done. I had the shop put the glass/trim on and currently they are fitting the fenders/hood. This was the best for marital bliss. I did get the A/C fitted and it mostly needs some minor adjusting of the lines and then charged with R12 then route the vacuum lines. I think it should be coming home next month. I am currently stocking up on interior parts and going through my shelves of used stuff. Once it is home I can do all the interior, electrical and finish the exterior small parts.

This is where it is currently. I am going down to work on it for two days this week.

So I have been driving down once a week and spending a day working on the car and while at home I spent evenings during the week working on the seats, the dash cluster, etc.

I had the gauges refaced and checked and put in a tribute automotive retro tach that looks and functions like the original without having to rely on the tach to work to start the car.

I sand blasted the seat frames and painted them, then applied burlap and felt edging, then put on new foam. The seats where a lot of work to get the upholstery on due to the new foam and a few minor differences in the new upholstery (did not have the cloth loops for listing rods in a few places but instead a plastic strip bead sewed on). I also put on all new listing rods.

I found an AM FM stereo out of a 1967 cougar - same radio except the buttons have AM on one side and FM on the other, you pull the button out and rotate it for one or the other on station memory. It was close enough to a 67 radio - the only difference is the buttons.

The seats need a little heat to smooth out a few minor wrinkles.

I haven't been able to work much on the car lately, but it has come along a little. Here is the photo of the front.
I have a lot of the interior ready to go too.

The grey is for the lower back panel grille like this one:

A few more parts added: Passenger outer vent and inner vent box, rear valance, the rear deck lid is painted and color sanded.

A little more progress made.

Haven't mounted the wheels on the car yet, next time. Still working out some electrical bugs and will be test driving it soon.

I went with standard door panels for now. The car was originally a standard interior and was keeping it along that theme with a few minor upgrades.

Here is how she sits today, still fighting the fuel sending unit - just ordered the Dennis Carpenter version - and need to get the tail lights in along with the passenger and rear seat, etc.

OK so it still runs, I will post the videos soon.

Pro: runs and stops, lights work,

Cons: the fuel and temp gauges are not working and the chrome vent wings I had chromed in Fort Worth 3 years ago are already bubbling. I am going to send them to Pauls chrome in PA. Will cost me but the rest of the car looks too good to keep pitted vent wings on her. I was really hit in the gut by that. Richard (my friend with the shop) can take them off and send them in for me, but I really hate having to do something over and am extremely disappointed.

The other gut punch is the fuel and temp gauges. I ordered a Dennis Carpenter fuel sender today and will see how it works. I have no idea on the temp gauge, may have to pull the dash out again!

Lastly I noted a small drip after running it and I think it is coming from the back of the intake manifold, which I already replaced twice!

I am a little discouraged right now.

The engine idle was a little high so the engine diesels over after turning off. I think the idle needs to be turned down at the carb.

I drove it around the parking lot across from the shop multiple times.

The car officially has 1 mile on it now!

So I got around to testing a few things on the fuel/temp gauge and it is the circuit breaker on the back side of the gauge cluster. I ordered an electronic version that should be in next week. I hope that will fix the gauge issue.

OK over the last few days:

1. Intake leak fixed.

2. new expansion valve put on, but need to get the system charged and see if everything is going to work.

3. Rear seat is in place and front seats are both in.

4. Driver side window is low at the front when rolled all the way up, will have to adjust that.

I drove the car around town and briefly on the highway- 12 miles total.

1. Intake is not leaking yet

2. The rebuilt power brake booster makes a vacuum sound when the brake pedal is depressed. I took it off and sent it back to Booster Dewey.

3. The speedometer is off by 5-10 MPH so I checked with Modern Driveline and they sent me a speedometer gear for a 3.55 rear axle ratio and I am running a 3.25 so they have another on the way.

4. The steering is smooth, transmission shifts nicely, the electrical is all working well.

5.The car handles good, I did not get on it too much yet as I am trying to figure out where all the bugs are.

I attached a photo of the rear panel. The GT stripes are on it too, but with everything else going on I forgot to take a photo from the side.

- I got the power brake booster rebuilt again and so far doing OK.
- Switched out the speedo gear - forgot I did have a 3.55 rear axle (confused it with another project) so I had to go up a couple gear teeth.
- All of the lights finally work - had to switch out the radio dial light for LED - for some reason it has to be all LED or not to get everything to work.
- rest of the interior is back together, for good hopefully, I am getting tired of fitting and refitting parts
- waiting on an LED flasher unit for emergency flashers and then I can put the instrument cluster back in

Other than that it should be about done!

Here is a photo, I put it in a corner of the new shop where I hung the old rear quarter panels.

I never thought about making wall art out of old quarters ,i like it ,you need a door skin and a front fender and you would have a whole side to hang on the wall

As the former owner of a '67 S-code GT fastback all I can say is that is awesome!

Quoted the above because I think it would be poignant to place part of the rotted/rusted metal up on that wall too.

As you all know (from experience and reading my thread) it has been a lot of work. I test drove it about 5 times with around 120 miles on the car now before winter set in. I am going to run her some more this spring and make sure all the bugs are worked out for good.

I added up the hours of work from my restoration log and estimated around 2900 hours - that includes the time I spent scratching my head when I got stuck a couple times. I did not add up the money spent as I didn't want to cry -

Horsesence - I should have kept some of the fenders, etc to hang up, but when I moved everything from Texas back to Kansas in 2014 I started getting rid of stuff as I was tired of moving everything. Now I wish I had a few things back! I do have to say looking at your threads helped to give me a lot of inspiration and ideas.

Latest update, this spring and summer I drove it a few times, work has been too busy to get much done. I had a few bugs to work out
- A/C box leaking water when the A/C was on - I forgot to caulk seal the groove on the A/C box the last time I put it back together so I took off the clips on the bottom half and caulked it with clear sealer
- Clutch adjustment minor issue and then re-bled the clutch due to some air in the line
- a few other minor things that I can't remember now

Drove the car last Sunday with NO bugs finally! I hope that trend stays.

I really appreciate all the help I have had from everyone and the support. I like reading everyone's postings and get inspiration, sorry I don't post more often to encourage others, but I am stalking on here and see some awesome stuff going on.

I will try to post another photo when I get the car out again before winter sets in.

That is an awesome job and it looks great! I am wondering if anyone knows how to reach Ryan. It doesn't look like he has been very active since his build. I did PM him, but was hoping someone might have an email address. I would like to get some details on his jig.
