1968 I6, carb float the cause?

In that other thread you talked about rebuilding the carb. That would give you the opportunity to fix any carb issues there might be.

Gave the carb a quick cleaning and looked it over, couldn't find anything plugged or clogged up bad enough to cause these symptoms, lowered the float just a hair.

Thought about what you said about the coil, figured might as well replace it along with the points and condenser. Fired it up after replacing the coil, same problem.

Replaced the points (they looked OK, were gapped at .019) and condenser, fired it up again and running great now. Must have been the damn condenser, who would have thought.

Since the car only backfired once during the roughly 10-15 times I was trouble shooting, I thought electrical was likely not it, the flooding out symptoms made more sence, guess you never know.
