1968 Mustang Convertible

Hi all, new to the forum. I noticed my carpet on the passenger and driver side is wet but the floor matts are not. I keep the car outside May through November and have 2 covers protecting it. I do have a 2 inch gap between the convertible top and top of the window and was thinking the wetness came from recent heavy rain that may have trickled down the windows and saturated the carpet. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks for your input Vinnie

That is probably what happened ,you need to dry out the carpet before it starts to rust the floors .I would remove it and dry it well .Remove the sound deadener as well ,water will be under it .
