Hey

My first car that i have is a 68 Mustang Coupe. It is a v8 302 c4. I am currently learning more about my car, but i would like to know if anyone has any kind of help to make my acceleration or torque much better because it lacks in that. So far all i have done is the exhaust with Flowmaster 40series and a xpipe, but i would like to increase my speed/acceleration and torque.

So any help would be great Thx

the easyest thing would to get a new intake, carb, and headers.. all simple to do, but for the headers u are going to have to get some exhaust work done.

Give us more info. Do you have headers? What kind of carb is on there? I have a '68 with a 289 and C4 tranny, and it DOES have torque and acceleration. 4-barrel Holley (4160), classic Holley Street Dominator single-plane manifold, headers and true dual exhaust (I installed these my self using stuff from Summit).

Now all I need to do is get the car to go down the road in a straight line! (That's next...)

I would say that if you don't have much cash and want to get some results then add headers and gears.

Mike you have to be a bit more specific on what you have to start.
engine stock?
maniflod?
headers?
carb?
rear end gears?

Oh, and how much money you got to burn?
What cha drivin boy?

Ill first start you off with what i know. My gear ratio in the back is 330 which i was told for high top speed, however i would rather have acceleration.

How would i go about changing my gears to higher acceleration

Leave the gears for now. That ratio is fine. What about carb, intake manifold and exhaust? Whatcha got?
