Ok, I saw a posting online about a 1972 mustang fastback with a C6 and rebuilt 429 engine. I could find no information on this car or the engine except for the fact that I don't believe 72 had an option for a 429. If anyone could provide me some links or information on the car or engine, I would be much appreciated.

Correct. 429 was only produced for 69, 70 & 71. This site should tell you all you want to know: http://429mustangcougarinfo.50megs.com/

Where was this car from? I had seen one like this about 2 years ago for sale. The 429 was swapped in from another car I don't remeber what. The car was originally a 4 speed but they swapped in an auto and left the clutch pedal. It was a real bastardized job. I looked at it but quickly walkd away.

Oh yeah and the body wasn't in great shape and he wanted too much for the condition it was in.

Don't know if it is the same car.

The 429 that was available in Mustands in 69 and 70 was the Boss 429, which is quite a bit different from the standard 429. The standard 429 was only offered in 1971 in Mustangs.

I guess I can post a link to the add. The place that rates these cars is highly reputable and they are also a classic car shoeroom.

That has the sprint package. Looks pretty sweet!

I'm not too sure about that price though. There are '71-'73 guys on this site that inform you better.

....Oh, I see Platonic is already on the case!

They also have a nice 73 on that site, but the price is more as the conditions is better.
