I am trying to put new synchros and input shaft in a 1975 4 speed. I can't figure out how to get the reverse sliding gear off the shaft. I have removed the roll pin on the output shaft and all of the snap rings. I can get all of the gears to spread apart so I can clearly see the gear in question, but it will not budge. Is it pressed on?
Thanks

Errr you kinda have me lost here. I've done my RAD a few (too many) times and not really understanding what pieces you're trying to remove.

If you don't have one, get a Haynes Mustang II Repair Manual (the older version) as it has the complete teardown and rebuild of the 4 speed tranny.

Otherwise, show me what parts you are referring to (use the numbers shown) and I'll see what I can do for ya.

I finally figured it out. First one of these I have torn apart and I wasn't tilting it down far enough. Once I figured it out, it was a DUH. Looks like getting the needle bearings back between the input and output shaft will be fun. I'll need some bubble gum grease for that.
