See,.......complacancy, conformity,...boring, boring, boring.

Coyote is about as "unique" as a windsor swap. It's only been done now about,....Ohh,... 73 bagillion times now.

But maybe if you paint the valve covers a different color, it'll somehow be unique?

I've become callus. When I see a thread where a guy announces that he has found his "perfect" project and look at the pictures he provides I can instantly know whether that project will ever have a chance in hell of completion.

Take this guy for example......all proud as punch that he's finally got himself a Mach 1 to restore.

Look at the other projects that I'm sure had the same announcement:

* Finally scored an 82 Capri.
Finally scored a 71 Torino GT.
Finally scored a 66? F 100.

The difference between you Dave and this guy is that I know that you'll get the 83 done. But this still goes to say the same as in my previous post.

How much closer to being perfect would any of these other cars be if dude would stop bringing home shelter dogs,...and concentrate on just one? Then with all the extra time he saves, he can show some love to the poor bastard that has to live out his life in the cage in the back of the yard?

The new car isn't going to change what I'm doing to Doby. It's just a small delay.

I already know what I want on the red car, and have for some time. It's not extremely wild as I go into the assembly stage of it. It'll be nice for sure, but I'm not going crazy and stuffing a T56 magnum in it or re-re-building the engine.

I need to have this '83 on different levels than just an opus for me. I want my son to have a vehicle before school starts next year. Doby won't be done by then. I would have bought some rattyassed POS anyhow just to drive around here in the next one to two months, it's just that the rattyassed POS turned out to be an'83 t-top notch.

Fate?

So Doby will be my cool car that I can drive to your place on the way to mustang week. The blue one.......we'll see.

Hadn't given thought to the V6 eco boost before, interesting idea. The engine on the blue car will be a worry for 2018. Though that is a really good idea.

Since the 83 is happening. I agree with your decision. Grab it, for some pocket change get it running and comfortable to drive. Work continues on doby as planned. You save an uber rare car from being reclaimed by Mother Nature. Provided nothing untoward happens to it in the future you have something to build when the 86 is finished.
I'm in the same boat, although it's a slightly different shape. My son will need a vehicle soon. He's in no shape to purchase and insure a vehicle. My best solution is to drive the fox and let him use the jeep.
Just like the 83 the jeep is SLOW, easy to work on, and parts are dirt cheap.
For a paltry sum the fox can also be an extremely road worthy vehicle and even though I said I'd never do it again, I do miss daily driving it.

Man, you sound like a noob. Everyone knows it doesn't matter how much you replace on a fox, stuff you would never think in a million years will leave you sitting in a parking lot stranded, or unable to make it to work on time. This is just fox 101.

I dd'd it for years. It only gave me problems when internet bench racing had me throwing poor quality miss matched parts at it. Lesson learned there.
No reason a stockish build shouldnt be reliable.
