What mods will work off of the newer v6's? (headers etc...)
Is one of these at least quicker than a 2.3 auto?

Considering picking up an 86 V6 auto for pretty cheap.
Would prolly just mod it as a 6 er for a while.

These things pretty reliable around towners?
3spd or 4 spd auto's?
Also

I'm pretty sure it's carbed 3.8L with 120HP.

Not sure if other 3.8 mods will work. I don't think the motor shares much aside from the block and rotating assembly really.

And even then, there were changes made to the cranks and blocks since then.

I figured some would be the same and some would be different. BUt anyone know much about these? I found one for around 500 bux and was thinking of using it for a daily driver but I would like to get it up to at least 150hp if not more like 170. I know in the past they made carbed manifolds for these and used to make headers and such. Was wondering if that crap is still available? I am sure some of the cams will work as long as I pick flat tappet as I am pretty sure this is a flat tappet motor and not a roller motor.

$500 for a longblock isn't a bad price. i'd tear the whole thing down, get it decked and zeroed, balanced, and cleaned up first. I'd use the existing heads and get them port and polished provided there aren't any problems with them.

Start with the pistons, crank, and lifters. Get those beefed up a little and maybe investigate into storking it out for some extra torque. Then turn your attention to the accessories to get more air in there.

I would expect that 200HP on that type of block wouldn't be that hard to accomplish.

lol its a whole car for 500 bux and the owner says it only has 38,xxx though I think it is prolly 138,xxx miles. But we will see.

Hey did you ever get that mustang? I just got a 1986 Mustang v6 3.8 to its a great little car it runs good to, I want to do the 5.0 swap but i dont know really what i need to do it ? can anyone help iv looked everywhere and cant find any info on the 5.0 swap so please someone help, thanks
