You've just found one very clean and unmolested 1988 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 survivor-classic. The following are some details about its condition:

HISTORY: two previous owners from same family, adult lady-driven. Car spent most of it's life stored in the heated shop of a Vermont dairy farm. Used seasonally, has never seen winter, snow or salt (a rarity for a Northeastern car) .

MECHANICAL: entire car has been gone through, thorough tune-up with only genuine Motorcraft parts, plus all fluids changed (oil, brake, coolant, rear differential). No leaks, runs strong, clutch engages as should, shifts well in all gears. Good oil pressure, charging output, and brake pedal.

AC fully functional, blows cool not cold, will need evacuation and basic conversion from r12 to r134.

Tires are relatively new, with very good tread on all four corners.

Power-train has never been modified or disassembled, completely OEM except for early 1990's "muffler house" dual exhaust job utilizing original mufflers (cats have been removed).

INTERIOR: charcoal gray, excellent condition, no rips, tears, cigarette burns or major stains, carpet clean and unstained, door panels and headliner clean, no cracked/faded plastic, including dash; all weather stripping intact, no tears or dry-rotting; all seats/seat belts/seat controls fully functional; hatch area clean with complete carpet, trim, original spare tire, and luggage cover.

New replacement OEM floor mats, seat belt sleeves, power door lock and power window switches, horn button pad, ashtray door repair kit, and rear hatch struts installed.

Everything electrical functions as new, including hatch and fuel door releases, power mirrors, radio, and "spotlight" vanity light.

EXTERIOR: original color code M6188 "dark shadow blue," partially resprayed in mid-1990's (hood, roof, rocker panels). Overall, finish is very good, with some light scratches and small chips. Car professionally detailed, including complete polish, sealant, and wax.

Chips remedied with appropriate touch-up paint (two hood, one driver's door, one passenger rear quarter). New replacement quarter-window trim covers applied. New replacement OEM headlights installed.

Undercarriage is clean and rust-free; rust-free shock towers and torque boxes (see photos). No cracks or bulges in windshield pillars or around quarter windows; doors do not sag and close with a gentle push.

Window glass clear and scratch-free; no chips or cracks in windshield.

Despite the mileage at the higher end of the scale, the previous owners babied this car, and it's still a very fine specimen of a speed-density GT 5.0, now a certified classic at 27 years-old. If you're seriously looking for a Fox-body of this vintage, then you know what you should be looking for...and how much harder it's getting to find these days. This car checks all of the right boxes, and the price reflects that (and is somewhat negotiable for serious buyers, however).
