Thank you for any help.. 1989 mustang gt. Both door lock switch dont unlock or lock. Replaced both side switches. Windows work. Fuses are good. Have 12 volts dc to ground on the sub base the door switches plug into. Any suggestions.

Always add speed parts whenever you're unsure of the problem....
But seriously folks, access the plug on the door lock plunger and check for power when pressing the button. You can do it from the switch harness too but you're likely needing new lock solenoid s.
And my experience with replacement door lock actuators is they are mostly junk.

When and if I take off my drivers side door panel again I am going to do the JRicher write up on these. The new ones I got from American muscle and one suck!

OP - check the female pins in the connector where your power window switch is. You may need a small screw driver or pin to move the two halves closer together. My bet is when the connector is plugged in, the connection is not making full contact.

If you have a 12V/18V/20V cordless tool battery handy you could jumper the window motors in the disconnected plug. That will tell you if the window motors are working or not. When doing this, just tap the one jumper wire (to pulse movement) as you don't want the window racing up/down in the window channel. Off the top of my head I am not sure which wire colors are for the power windows - just check your wiring diagram.

Ok. Edit with details on what does what and how to check it.

It starts on the drivers side. A black with white stripe power wire. Constant ground from the circuit breaker (metal box) on the starter relay. If it does not have 12v check the cb and wires for a short.

2 black ground wires that ground to the door.

Then 2 pink wires, one with a yellow stripe and one with a green. These are the switched signal wires. Resting both are ground, when switched one is ground and the other is power. These wires run directly to the passenger harness where the magic happens. These 2 wires supply the...
