Fuel 1990 LX 2.3 hot no start

This is why i was thinking you had multiple problems and not just one. Since you have 2 "motorcraft" icms, we will put that aside for now. I put it in quotes because 9 out of 10 times they arent actually motorcraft.
I was thinking the icm was getting hot and causing it to stall- that would be one problem. How many miles on this engine?
160,000 Kilometers.. 99,000 miles

If the car runs with starting fluid after it shuts off that tells me it has spark. I would suspect one of two things. Either the TFI module is overheating or the fuel pump is failing. Did you put thermal paste between the TFI module and the distributor?

Yes I put thermal paste between the TFI and the distributor.
Fuel pressure is good when the car is hot

Okay, so is what I stated correct? Yes or no. Also, when it shuts down are you able to monitor fuel pressure? If so does it stay steady, slowly drop off, drop to zero immediately, or ???

When the motor quits running the fuel pump will shut off.

You could also have a failing ECU.

What you stated is correct yes.
Yes I have monitored fuel pressure when it shuts off. It jumps up a few psi when it shuts off and stays there for 3 minutes. It will then very very slowly start to move down.

Man I would suspect the ECU shutting things down. Might be time to send it off to ECU Exchange and have them go through it.

I have a few guys locally that have some good ICM's that I'll check out..
I have opened it up and it looked like newer unit. All the caps looked great.
