1990 lx 5.0 auto transmission problems

I have a 1990 5.0L LX Mustang and the transmission was replaced by the previous owner and only shifts into 1st and 2nd and reverse gears but wont got higher than 2nd and it does not slip is there any way to fix this?

Find out what kind of tranny it is. A soft rebuild is a 1000 beans. Hey! Maybe it's a power glyde, they only have 2 gears.

I think its an aod and Ive heard It could be something to do with a vacuum line or something maybe

I have a 1991 LX 5.0 convertible that is doing the same exact thing!!!
