1991 Mustang GT Brake Lights Don't Work

I just bought my pony and now the brake lights don't work. I'm going to look through the obvious areas; fuses, bulbs, and brake light switch. Is there a more common area that tends to fail or has anyone encountered a similar problem with there FOX?

the only thing i can think of that you didnt mention is the actual lbulb sockets. my cousins car had a simliar problem and it was because his bulb sockets where coroded

the fuze. the switch under pedal,do signals work?running lights?

Mine did that and i checked under the dash inline with the steering wheel and found that the wire harness clip was unclipped.Good luck.
