1993 Mustang Gt questions

Hi
I was just wondering if ford put svt emblems on mustangs in 1993. Carfax said it was a Mustang Gt/ Cobra Gt. Any ideas. I just bought it, any idea about how many red, 5 speed, gt's were produced with black interior?
thanks

i not sure if this is what your asking but here goes carfax says mustang gt/cobra gt for all 93 mustangb gt's because they are saying this is a 93 gt or its a 93 cobra it doesnt mean anything a friend of mine had a 93 gt and went on carfax and that came up and he called me and was like dude i have cobra then he call the next day and said never mind asked them about it and they said they put that for all 93's hope that helps

Ford would/should not have put SVT decals on a '93 GT. The bad thing is there are a lot of easy ways for people to get these emblems and sale GT's as Cobras. If your really curious, Im sure any of the SVT sites should be able to track a VIN to see if it matches up.

I have a Canadian Cobra so I could just say that it is an American GT

OT: anyone esle think canadian cobra has a sweet ring to it, lol

i too am curious about the "cobra" im about to buy.
i think my uncle said it was purple, however there were no purple cobras produced in 97

so either i heard him wrong, its not the stock paint, or its not a cobra

he did say however, that it has the cobra package

maybe a gt turned cobra?

w/e id buy it either way, lol

I don't know if the Canadian Cobra badge was dropped after 1993 or if they continued with it. More than likely though, your car is GT.

You should probably read up on the tips thread: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=573378

Also, if the car is unmodified you should also consider these as your first modifications

First mods should be as follows (my take):

In order of Priority
1) Subframe connectors (SFC's) full length ones are prefered for a stiff chasis
2) Gears: 3.73:1 or 4.10:1 seem to be the popular choices
3) Full Exhuast (headers, hi-flo cats, catback +mufflers)
4) Buy a K&N panel filter (no CAI kit required) and put it in the stock box
5) Bumped timing to 12 - 14 degrees (free mod) 10 Degrees is stock.
6) Larger MAF, TB (MAF cars from 1988 california only, 1989-1993)
7) 3G alternator upgrade / electric fan
8) Fix the weak brakes

Optional MODs:

9) Strut tower brace (necessary on Convertibles IMO)
10) Underdrive pullies (they can't be used on S/C motors and cause charging problems)
11) Weight reduction out of the nose of the car
12) Shocks/Struts and lowering springs
13) C/C plates if you lower the car

After those (the basics), it's pretty much up to you. There are plenty of Super Chargers or Heads, Cam and Intake packages to choose from.

Also, don't forget about the basic tune up
1) Changing all of the fluids (oil, coolant, trans, rear end, brake and some of the power steering)
2) Plugs: (non-platnum type) Autolite or Motorcraft are prefered
3) Oil filter: Motorcraft or equivalent (not FRAM)
4) Air filter: see first mods item #4
5) Plug wires: Ford Motorsport (FRPP) 9mm units are great
6) Cap / Rotor
7) Oxygen sensors
