Hello
I am looking at a 94 cobra to purchase. The car has been abused. not driven hard just not taken care of. paint is in sorry shape and it missing one piece of trim behind the front wheel. balancer is out and the clutch slips above 4k rpm. I think one of the exhaust pipes is rattling againts the frame.
A few exhuast leaks probably from the headers.
133000 miles on the clock
The guy is asking 6k. i offered 4.5k

It looks to be a stock engine. has BBk headers and what i think are 2 chamber flows with huge tips 3.5 by the looks that stick out to far. It is lowered by about 1.5 to 2 inches im guessing
most of the problems are things i can fix my self, balance,r clutch, paint etc. Just wanted to get everyones opinion

Sounds like a $5K car to me. He's asking 6 and you're offering 4.5K so $5K would seem fair for that kind of car with those kinds of problems and that many miles.

heck i paid 5500 for mine in perfect condition with 3.55's and flows. like three years ago with 125k miles. That car is prolly a 4000-4500 car. Depending upon color and options.

I would skip it and keep looking. I promise you will most likely find more problems once you buy it. It sounds like it has had a hard life.

According to NADA, the low value is $6,675 and the highest value is $8,900 but that's probably the dealer's resale value. Kelly Blue book has the value at $5,085 for private party resale. Check it out thouroughly. Peace

I bought a "fixer-upper" Mustang for $200 a year ago. By the time I got done finding all the extra problems, I didn't feel comfortable to drive it. It was a waste!!!! I would pass and let some other dope fix someone elses problem! That's experience talking!

Sounds way too risky, your just scratching the surface on this one. The mods that are done dont even sound like they were installed properly, find another for a grand more with no problems.

I would not do it.

With all the money your going to put into it just fixing it you could of bought an alot better shape cobra. Cause like others have siad ''other things will break'' once you drive it for a whyle. Just be patient for the right one and buy it.

Heck if I were to do it all over agian I would of bought a GT, and just put all the cobra stuff on it, but o well I still like my car.

I paid $7k for my 94 cobra in almost mint condition with 103,000. If he won't do 4500 offer him $5k because that really isn't a lot to pay for a cobra. Even if the car is in rough shape you can still have a lot of fun with it. If i could get my hands on a cobra for 4500 i'd beat the living piss out of it and sell it for $4000 in 6 months.

I second that, I bought mine in near mint condition and I still stumble upon a problem here and there. That car might have alot more problems than you think, such as rust (check over the entire underbody, cuz this can be a real pain in the ass to restore).

too much money. i thought mine was a bargain at 4.5k and mine was a turd. a/c is down, water leaks, bad paint and a cracked windshield. It did come with all of the mods on it(except for the magnaflows and et streets) plus a few things i didnt list like a fpr and new sfi balancer, some guages. For a car like that one in need of repair i wouldnt buy for more than 3k.
