Brakes 1994 disc brake questions.

Lucked out recently and got a pair of 1994 Mustang spindles with complete disc brake assemblies. Going to have to store them for maybe a year or two before I get my next Mustang. The pads and rotors appear to be in good condition.

I’d like to store them so that they are ready to install.

Do I apply anti-squeal compound to the backing plate?

Do I apply high temp brake grease to the the caliper piston?

Do I apply high temp brake grease to the backing plate where it contacts the caliper piston?

Do I apply high temp brake grease to the edge of the backing plate where it contacts the caliper?

Thanks in advance.

I apply grease to all contact points plus the slide pins. So I usually apply it to where the pads ride on the Caliper bracket, the piston face and the two prongs that touch the outer pad. I also use a less is more approach and it seems to work quite well.

I use synthetic high temp brake grease

Thanks for the reply.
Do you apply any anti-squeal compound?

No. Anti squeal tends to be gluelike so I avoid it. Brake grease can be used as a lubricant and for antisqueal purposes as it can be left exposed as well. Antisqueal compounds aren't s good lubricant.

I use synthetic, silicone based Brake grease. Don't use petroleum based as it causes rubber to swell
