1995 Mustang GT Convertible

Either side of the top part of my seat belts do not lock when they are pulled.Is this a feature on convertibles ?

To my knowledge, they're not supposed to lock unless they're extended at a very rapid rate (such as a hard lock on the brakes), so they still allow movement while you're wearing them. My 95 hardtop is the same way.

true if you jerk on them they should lock.

Actually I think it is more that thee is a counterweight hanging off the lock mechanism that is looking for any lateral g-force... the reason this happens a lot when we pull the belt fast is that the car is usually in some kind of manuever and the combination is what is needed to lock the belt...

Just rip that little guy off.. You dont really need it..
