Electrical 1995 weird wiper issue

It was raining the other day and decided to drive my mustang. Found out the windshield wipers don't work. However, they DO work if you push the switch in for the wash function. They wipe 3 times, then park. That tells me the wiper motor, harness, etc is all fine. Could it be the switch? Iv also read about some control box that controls the wipers? Ideas? TIA
