Apparently these things are known to break but not know to me

and mine just broke today.

Anybody have any recommendations on where to get a new one?

I have been looking around and saw a Steeda on StangSupension for 159.99???

What about just another stock part or will the same problem arise again?

Ford revised the stock replacement rear sway bar, its made of solid steel now, not that garbage tubular pressed piece like the original. I just went with revised stock replacement when mine broke. This should of been a safety recall on fords part in my opinion.

The new Ford piece is inexpensive and easy to install. Just go OEM.

I wouldn't spend a ton of money. I don't even have a sway bar on my notchback Mustang, and I noticed no difference with or without it!! Buy an OEM at the dealer.

My only concern would be with my car being a Convertible.

I have only heard this happening on the boards, and I have a lowered Cobra and i autocross & trackday my car often and I have not had a problem, are there signs to look for, like cracking, where exactly do they tend to break.

They break right where the rear of the two bolts pass through the lower control arm. On both my wife's car and a friends car, it happened on the right side. I actually heard it break on my wifes car when we were backing into a driveway. On both cars it resulted in a loud clanking noise when driving over uneven pavement. My friend drove with it that way for several months and said that he noted a distinct improvement in handling after I replaced it for him.
