Hey everyone. I recently bought a 97 Cobra (Pics) and I am wondering what some popular mod's are for them. I know I need to do the exhaust, that is still stock. Any suggestions on that? I was looking at a new high flow H-Pipe and Mac Cat back for it. I'm a daily driver, no racing really, but would like to keep in front of everyone :) I don't hear many good reviews about the stock clutch kit and t45 tranny. If I was to upgrade these down the road, what should I look into? I see summitt has a 6-speed 2000 Cobra transmissions for sale, but I don't know how much that would involve since its a 5-spd stock car. Any suggestions? Thanks!

CAI and a good catback like Borla or Magnaflow. Also wider rims/tires in the back for traction. The 94-98 Mustangs look pitiful in the rear fenderwell with the stock wheels. They are 3/4" inch narrower stance than the stock 99+ ponies. 10.5" wheels look awsome!

mine is a 97 as well. First mod ever was a K&N air filter (no CAI yet), removed silencer. What really woke up the car though was the Bassani catback, and the underdrive pulleys. With the pulleys, you really feel the power seem to level across the rpm and pick up faster. I think that was the best $600 i had ever spent on it. (I have shaved off about 7 tenths just on the above mentioned, but my original exhaust was bent and all screwed up)

Next up will be 4.10 gears, MGW shifter and some MT DR's. In another few months down the road, thinking of bassani headers, x-pipe and maybe a throttle body and of course a good tune helps.
