i think i got it. but it says it has a water fill resivoir. so the water runs through the hear exchanger then to the intercooler? if im wrong plz explain it to me. im trying to figure out how this kit works and im not to positive. i thing i have a concept of how it works. also what is the difference between a kenne bell and a roots style supercharger?

Its just like a radiator (aka heat exchanger). Coolant absorbs heat, is pumped through fins which are cooled by convective heat transfer.

Kenne Bell makes a Twin Screw supercharger. You can google "Twin Screw" and "Roots Supercharger" and get schematic diagrams of each. They are similar in outer appearance (both sit on top of the engine), but have slightly different moving parts. The TS has 2 screws, believe it or not . The Roots has these 2 spinning lobed things.

The answer to any more KB questions is "Get one now, and get it with an intercooler."

ok so exactly how does it all work together? so the kb superchargers pulls in air the same way as a regular intake. just wondering how the intercooler and and heat exchanger. could someone plz explain exactly how it works and puls the air in and cools the air off. i know how the centi supercharger works but how the kb is set up im kinda dumbfounded

Think of the KB like your intake plenum, except now it pressurizes the air. Now think of the air-to-water intercooler like part of the lower intake manifold, except it has passages for coolant to flow through, just like your engine has passages for coolant to flow.

When the supercharger pressurizes the air, the temperature goes up. It then passes from the supercharger through the intercooler. The metal of the intercooler draws heat from the air, and the coolant flowing through the intercooler draws heat from the metal. The heated coolant then flows through the heat exchanger, which removes heat from the coolant. The coolant is then pumped back into the intercooler, and continues on this cycle.

This isn't an intercooler like you see mounted on the front of cars. This intercooler is basically a block of metal mounted between the engine and the supercharger. The supercharger sits on it. The heat exchanger is what hangs in the front of your car and uses air flow for cooling. This cooling is then transferred to the intercooler via the coolant.

This coolant is separate from your engine coolant/radiator system, hense the new reservior. It even has its own pump.

ok i got it now so the heat exchanger sits where a regular intercooler sits. ok i git it now. i thopught it was sumthing like that but i thought it was the other way around. i have taken classes about this kinda suff within the chemical plants. ok i think i have made up my mind and im gonna get the 2.1 kb kit. thx a lot and i also need to find out when i order the kenne bell 2.1 intercooled kit what else do i need to order. like tb, cold air kit? it comes with the chip but can i get a dyno tune with that or do i need to get the sniper tuner?

ok i just got off the phone with Jim Bell from Kenne Bell. i told him what i was lookin to do and i told him about my dads corvette with the pro charger. he asked if i was gonna go to the track a few times a year so he said he would give me the 9, 12lb pullies and the pulley wrench and i told him i wanted to swap the 6lb pulley for the 9lb pulley and he told me he'd give them to me in the intercooled pakage. so i get the whole kit, which comes with the 9lb pulley, plus the 6lb , 12lb pullies and the pulley puller for free. that is awsome i am soo glad that i am going with kenne bell. that is awsome

No doo doo, you actually talked to Jim Bell? I've been trying to get hold of a knowlegeable person there for several years. Customer service has never been their strong suite, maybe they figured that out finally.

I was just going to say that you may be happy with your purchase now and you will really be happy with the performance but you will be very dissapointed when you need something from KB. Good thing it's worth the PITA or else they would have been out of business a long time ago.
