2.3/2.5 Crate engines

I was browsing the web (mostly trying to find a new water neck) and found out Esslinger, who makes aluminum D heads, is now selling a 2.3 and 2.5 carb crate/turnkey engine.

It looks like a very nice engine with around 210hp and 225hp for the 2.3 and 2.5 respectively. The downside is the price. The 2.3 is $7499.00 and the 2.5 is $7999.00. Still looks nice, wouldn't mind throwing one of those in with a charger on it, push some high HP ratings. Wouldn't doubt if you can build one cheaper, but there is a nice option if you don't want to do it yourself.

12:1 Comp ratio on those motors.. Thats death for turbo Apps Those are better suited for N/A racing. For street use i think the homebuilt Turbo motor is still the best choice.

I doubt you'd wanna drive a mini stock engine on the street. Probably has no power below 5-6K RPM and I guarantee it requires race gas.

The only "crate" engines Esslinger sells are for racing, and for dune buggies. Both types are high RPM, race gas type engines that cost a small fortune.
