I know motorcycles have the little wave thing... I know the Jeep people have the wave thing. Why is it when I go by a fox body they feel the need to rev their v8? Is it a "my penis is bigger" thing or is it our version of the wave?
I even sport the 2.3 emblem.

I need to know if I need to be offended or not.
Thank you

Mustang guys rev at each other, it's just what they do...

When I still had my Mustang, I saw so few Foxes that weren't clapped out beaters that I hardly got any waves. once in awhile though. Now that I have the Turbo Coupe, the only waves I get are from a local guy that owns a few of them

I don't really see many Fox bodies either, except for beat 4 cylinders (mine looks good ). I wave to all Mustangs though, and it seems mainly only the V8 guys wave back. I guess because they're typically more of an enthusiast as opposed to the rest.

Most 2.3 mustangs out there are people's beaters...that's just a fact of life. They may be driving it because it's a mustang, but most likely they're driving it because it gets good mileage and/or they got it cheap.

Yea, I didn't really want to come right out and say it. But it is a fact of life.

Well I did get mine cheap and it is my daily driver because of the mpg. The body is fairly solid and in the process of being fixed, but I do stereo competing so it will never go fast with all my equipment/weight. Most of the time I don't even hear the revs over the 150+ Db.

Wave to each other? That's kind of weird....I thought only bikers did that.

I've had lots of muscle/performance cars rev at me though, I figure it's at least an acknowledgement.

The Z06 club that my wife is a member of Waves...Goodbye when they pass everyone at 160mph. I have always revved when passing another Mustang even when doing 70mph on the freeway.

people wave to me and i always feel obligated of letting them hear the turbo. theres a lot of fox bodies in my area, so unless they know what the svo means they assume itsa 5.0 until they hear otherwise

Uh, don't want to start a pissing contest here...but stock 5.0s are NOT comparably slow in any regard to stock 2.3Ls.

I have a 93 LX 2.3L automatic. I run out of room before I can Gtech it to 60MPH. I'd wager it runs the 1/4 mile in 18+ seconds.

Fox 5.0s run mid-high 14s stock. SN95 5.0s run high-14s - low-15s stock. There is no comparison there.

Yeah, this is really true. Stock 2.3l's are not performance vehicles. Stock 5.0's are not all that fast by today's standards, but stock 5.0's are still competitive. Mid 14's from a near 20-year-old car is damn solid. I'm not at all dogging the 2.3's. Let's just be real here. They are damn slow when stock.

He was clearly comparing the 5.0 to the Camaro. But, 2.3T's can give 5.0's a run for their money.

Yeah...comparing a 5.0 to the a Camaro is STILL not even in the same ball park as comparing the 2.3 cars to anything performance-oriented...

Year to year with the Camaro, 5.0 Mustangs were always fairly close, and in most years faster (mid-80s up to 93).

I wave at most Mustang's I see, 5.0 or 2.3 or whatever.

Why not, we can't let the Jeep folks have all the fun. I've had bikes, 3 Jeeps, etc, and it's kind of fun.

Our 2.3 is by all means not a slow vehicle. With 3.73 gears, even the 88 hp monster motor moves it out quite respectably, I think. Not up there with either of my 5.0's but no prob for daily driving.

Even with a '93 (105HP), I beg to differ in terms of 'slowness.'

Not a slow vehicle??? Please! My brother could handily beat me in his '96 Escort LX (1.9L SOHC, 5 speed, bone stock, with speakers in the back) when I had my '90 Mustang (2.3L, 5 speed, 3.73's, cold air intake, shifter, and cat-back exhaust). Escort LX's with the 1.9 were only rated at 90 hp if I recall correctly.
