2.3L head

Several 5.0 heads will fit the trunk of a 2.3. And vice versa. On the engine, no.

There are some Chevy fours that can use one head from a v8, I have heard, and people have cut up Ford v8 heads to put on 300 in six motors.

On a stock 2.3 NA? The stock head. If you're not prepared to sink some big bucks into the rest of the engine, then it's not worth using anything but a ported stocker. The only way to get cost effective power out of these boat anchors is to turbocharge them anyway.

Sure those cams are probably great for an engine that has some other stuff done to it.

On a stock 2.3L n/a, I wouldn't bother.

It is my opinion that there's no sense in putting a cam in a 2.3L unless you do some headwork.

I have a Motorsport A237 cam (no longer made) and I absolutely love it.

I've heard from plenty of people that have the same cam on a stock head (on a turbo 2.3) and they HATE it, because they say it has no bottom end and nothing happens until 3000 RPM.
