Not really. It will be wider, for one thing. Why do you want to put in an 8.8? Unless your car is Turbo charged you will never break an 7.5 with an N/A 2.3L.
You can use the housing, just get a set of fox width 5 lug axles, and use North Racecars caliper brackets to mount the brakes. Then your wheels won't be skateboarded out of the wheelwells. Housings are the same, axles are wider to accomodate the exciter rings for abs. Hope this helps. I've got a turbo coupe rear under my 93 coupe. I still need to get the right axles and north racecars brackets for it.
