If i remeber right, the 5.0 swap in a fox body is one of the few engine swaps the requires you to remove a fender ? fuel lines or something i think

You'd be lucky to TOUCH a 5.0 for less than 9k around here.

Really? What do you consider "around here"?

I live maybe ~200 miles away from you, in Pittsburgh, and I picked up my 95 GT (5.0L and everything) for $5000 last July. Car was/is in excellent condition and had 81,000 on the clock when I bought it.

Back on topic....

It's not worth converting your 2.3L car to a V8. As others have said, if you want a V8 car, buy one. If you want to increase the performance of your 2.3L, swap to a turbo motor.

Have you ridden in a Mustang with a fully ported 2.3 turbo engine running 20+ lbs of boost? I have plenty of power when I want it, and I also have great fuel economy when I want it.

Have you ever ridden in a blown 5.0? I'm not knockin the 2.3 at all Im just saying I wouldnt go swappin out a 5.0 for one.

No, I haven't.. I can imagine that must be a pretty darn impressive ride. Not knocking it at all. I'm just saying that if one is starting from a stock 2.3 N/A, it is my opinion that a 2.3 turbo swap is a better option than a 5.0. Unless you are shooting for really high HP (IE, forced induction V8), the 2.3 turbo will provide 5.0 or better power levels with less work. Plus, it's kind of unique! Each to his own, but that's how I look at the situation.

I cenverted my convertible from a 2.3 to a 5.0(306)....well...converting actually. Seems like a never ending project. Personally I will never do it again and with the benefit of hindsight I probably wouldnt have done it this time save for the fact that I wasnt even aware of the turbo swap before I gt into that project. If I would have gove woth a turbo swap, the car would be done by now and I would have spent alot less time and money on it. For what I have in the 306, I could have one bad ass 2.3T. If you do deo it though, definately go the donar car route. And I probably wouldnt even mess with that lincoln motor. It not the same as a mustang 5.0HO.
