Finally got to drive the car after almost a year of working on this turbo swap in my 92 stang. Runs and spools great at part throttle and I can take it to 5k at part throttle without any problem but when I go to WOT from around 1k it runs on up but at around 4 it misses, keeps accelerating, then misses again around 5ish. Here are a couple areas that I think might be causing the problem: My TPS is set to .98 and when I go to WOT it measures 6.01 Volts, does that seem a little high? I set my base idle to 600, I plug in the IAB, restart and the car idles at around 1100, I can't make it idle lower. I have the exhaust disconnected, just the stock downpipe and SVO catalytic converter are hooked up. Thanks guys, it was fun to finally drive the car, can't wait till it actually runs right.

P.S. I just thought also maybe I am overboosting as my gillis valve has 7 feet of vacuum line between the outlet of the valve and the wastegate actuator so maybe with all this hose there isn't enough pressure to push the wastegate open. hmm

I owned a 89lx with a swap from a t-coup and it started missing whenever I had it at WOT after 3k. Turns out the distributer came loose and the timing was off around 8 degrees. Just my personal experience, hope it helps.

I think a few issues need to be addressed.

1st Occasionally mine misses just like that when on nitrous but runs great otherwise. This is "usually" the ignition breaking down. Before buying any parts, hook-up a fuel pressure gauge and make sure your fuel pressure increases 1 psi for every psi of boost. If you're fuel delivery is ok check the spark plugs. Clean them and gap them to the tightest gap within specs. Test Drive. If that does anything to make it better I would probably give it tune-up and check the timing.

Next:
The Ford spec for the TPS voltage is .91 so if you see .98 I would think you might be ok. When watching the Thottle position values on a ford scan tool anything below 1V is shown as "idle", above 1V is "part throttle" and I forget the voltage values for WOT but I would say 3.75V-4.25V.
The odd thing is that all of the PCM circuits, TPS, IAC, ECT, Etc are all 5V references and are regulated internally by the PCM. Anything above 5V I would check your meter and then check another circuit somwhere.

What computer are you using? I drove mine for a year with the idle at 1000 and I was just happy it wasn't at 2500. If it surges or acts like its searching for a correct idle put an IAC on it.
