2 brl carbs

Two barrels = two holes. The 2V on the aircleaner stood for "2 Venturis". Bolt on replacements: Either a Holley list # 7448-350 cfm 2 bbl, Or the Holley list # 4412 500 cfm 2 bbl. The 500 will give it an up to 20 hp kick in the pants. You can call it a 4 bbl performance enhancer in a 2 bbl package. The 350 is pretty much a stock replacement. Both will bolt on, with only a minor reroute of the fuel line to make them work. Just remember to install an in-line fuel filter between the pump and carb. Once you set it, leave it alone. Only thing that will stop a Holley is water or dirt in the fuel. If it seems that it's gotten out of tune, look elsewhere for the problem ( ignition usually, especially if you're still running points) One more thing: I see you're in south Texas. If you decide on either Holley, get a manual choke model and wire the choke open. You'll never need a choke down there. Paying the $20 or so extra for an electric choke model is a waste where you're at. Me, personally, I take all the choke parts off the carb, including the choke butterfly.

Electric choke Holley's are just that, electric, one wire hook up to operate it. Manual choke Holley uses a pull-cable to operate it, like the ones on lawn mowers. The cable attaches to the choke lever on the pass. side of the carb and is routed thru the firewall and mounts under the dash. When it's cool enough to need a choke, I just "baby" the motor after starting till it idles on it's own. The heater you've got just bolts into the intake doesn't it ? In that case just leave it where it is or remove it and replace the thing with a metal cover.

The Holley 2 bbl is a model 2300. Autolite 2 bbl was a 2100. Two different carbs. Two different mfg's. Holley has made carbs for Ford to Ford's specs that are also Holley designs, but the 2100 wasn't one of them. Ford has also used Holleys many times as O.E. carbs. These also had Ford part #'s on them but they were Holley carbs.

Look on the side of the fuel bowl, behind the accellerator pump rod, there's a number cast into the bowl. Biggest Autolite 2 bbl was a 1.33 which was a 434 cfm carb. The 1.23 was a 365 cfm. Don't recall offhand what the smaller ones were.
