I have a 88 5.0 HO w/o MAF GT, 5 speed. Only advantage to this car, is 14k on a rebuilt block. Needs massive body work.

Friend's, 91 5.0 HO w/ MAF LX, Rebult AOD, over 100k on the motor. This car is in excellent body conidtion. 3.73? rear gears, full head/back flowmaster exhaust, underdrive pully kit, 70 MM TB w/ EGR spacer, decent racing seats.

He wants 2k for the car, my question is, swapping my motor (w/o MAF) into a chassis w/ MAF, will I encounter many problems? If I can pull it off smothely, then I'd be one happy person. Something is currently wrong with the fuel injection with his, so I'd swap my whole motor in, and then use his upper intake/TB.

Any input?

I guess it comes down to what you want to do with the car. Do you wan to do bodywork or engine work. Personally I love the style of both cars but feel a straight body is worth more than a little engine work. If the engine in the 91 is still good than go for it. My 91 has 104k and I can beat on it or drive like a g-pa for long road trips and the oil level never changes or smokes in the least. You may get another 60k out of the 91 before you have to rebuild.

Have fun with your choice.
