20" Shelby Razors / Performance White

I finally decided which wheels I wanted to go with to replace the plain 17" silver bullets my car came with. They are the 20x9" with the +40MM offset. They sit just inside the fender lip nicely. My only complaint is that the 255/35ZR20 look a little narrow for these wheels. I should have probably gone with 275s.

I was thinking 20 inchers might look to big, but seeing these photos they fit perfect.

Razors are definately a favorite.

If rotations are not important, put a 275 minimum in the rear on those 9" wides.. I'd think about a 285 - 295 personally.

Thanks guys.

I was also afraid the 20s would look silly big on the car. Turns out they seem to 'fit' the body style perfectly; the fact that the car is lowered a little probably helps.

I will definitely upgrade to 275 or 285s as soon as I can wear these out.

What surprises me the most is that the car doesn't seem to ride much rougher than it did with the stock 17" Pirellis. The sidewalls of these Sumitomos are extremely short, but they still provide a close-to-stock ride.

Would someone do us all a favor and WEIGH one of those rear 20s with a 255+ tire?

I'm all for fat rubber, but at the expense of huge weight? More weight = slower car, and if you're N/A with a few bolt-ons, it's like you're back to square one in terms of performance of a stock GT.

I'm holding out for some forged wheels. Something that is in the range of 1lb. per inch (not unusual to find)...but finding a design that is cool....that's the hard part.

The UPS shipping info on the tracking email for mine lists them as 59 lbs each (wheel and tire). I don't know if that's an accurate weight, or just an estimate Late Model Resto puts on all their wheel/tire packages.

When I took off the stock wheels and put these on, I didn't notice any real difference in the weight. I'm sure these are heavier, but I'm not sure its enough to make the car significantly slower.

Great choice! I know I love mine.

I have 255's up front & 275's in the rear. When the fronts go, I'm definitely bumping up to at least 265 in the front as the 255's look a bit too small...the rear may be a bump up too, but probably not much larger than the 275's.

275s would be a better fit and give you more patch to play with, I agree.

The Razor's are one of those designs that never look as big as they are from certain angles. I had the 18s and everyone thought they were 17s or smaller!

The 20s look like 18s from some angles. It's because the "forks" terminate so quickly in the wheel; optical illusion. But when you stare long enough and read where the polished lip is in relation to the fender....oh yeah. DUB CITY....heh.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I hadn't seen them in person until mine arrived; they have a very high quality finish to them. I was at a car show this weekend and saw another 'Stang with the 18s on it. I'm not bashing, but they looked a little small on the car. Several people I was with said the same thing. It must just be the shape of the wheels; they look smaller than they actually are.

Yeah, I agree...IMO though to look right i'd have to have a big tire on the back like a 295-45-18 not a stock sized tire, but something wide and tall to fill the wheel well.

Here are a few quick pics I did tonight and I posted it on the other thread that has a bazillion posts to it, but I didn't mention the tire or wheel size so I will do it here. The fronts are 20x8.5 with 255/35/20 and the rears are 20x10 with 295/30/20.toyo proxe4's.

I know this is a very old thread, but I finally went and weighed my old mustang wheels and compared them to the Razors. Stock 18 inch Bullitt wheels (painted not chromed) with 255 45 R18s weighed 55 pounds.

20 inch chrome Shelby Razor with 255 35 R20s weighed 58 pounds. I imagine the Razors that are gun metal or silver would would weigh slightly less.

Just an fYI.

I posted 2 pics to eliminate any confusion as to what wheels I am talking about.

Thanks for posting these pics...I have a performance white GT as well, and have been looking at the Shelby Razors. It's nice to see how they look on a car similar to mine.

I have one question...are the center caps removable? I'd rather have like a GT emblem there instead of the cobra.

That is my main concern. I am torn between 19" Foose and 20" foose rims. I also am afraid the rims would look too big, but after seeing the photos, these look great. How is the ride for you guys running 20"?

Hey guys, I just got my 20" chrome razors on yesturday.

I put 255/35/20 up front, flush with fenders,

Iput 275/30/20 out back and the tires stick out past the finders about 1/4 inch...kinda dissapointed me at first, but its alright I guess.

P.S. They are 24mm offset with 6 inch backspacing, which is what the guy at shelby performance told me is right for our cars.
