I have a 2000 ford mustang gt. Will the bell housing from a 2006 crown vic police interceptor bolt up to mine?

Yes. The modular motors all have the same bolt pattern and will bolt up to each other.

But if looking to swap in an automatic transmission from a different model year be aware that Ford has made changes along the model years and there are differences in the transmission. Note, this is not a full list of the differences. YMMV.
  • The number of OSS ring gear teeth has changed. This is going to make the speedometer inaccurate.
  • The Crown Vic uses a different tail shaft lenght
  • The Crown Vic uses a different DTR range selector. I believe it points in a different direction. I also believe it can be changed.
  • The later model year 4R70W's also use a turbine speed sensor that is not used in earlier model year Mustangs.
Bottom line. The 4R70W transmission is a PCM controlled transmission. The PCM tune and body harness wiring can play a role here. Perhaps the most important detail to remember is that it's VITAL for the speedometer to be accurate. If not the PCM will not be able to select the correct shift points.
