Took my granddaughter out to teach her to drive a stick (in my 2000 GT). She was doing okay, but a bit flustered with the lowness and “noise” of the car. At one point, I saw her force a pedal to the floor and realized it was probably the brake pedal vice the clutch. After that, she had problems getting the car to pull off…something was dragging (in retrospect). I could smell what I thought was the clutch.
On the way home, the car had lost its snap on acceleration, like towing a trailer.
When I got it home, the car held itself in place without the parking brake (rut ro) on my steep driveway.
A walkaround found smoking hot right front…jacking it up showed both front wheels almost locked up. I didn’t check the rears.
My plan for a cool morning is to put it on jacks and bleed the brakes to see if I can get them to release, but I’m thinking a new master cylinder may be in order if she pushed past the seals.
Thoughts? ((Thanks))
