Finally save up the money and got it painted. Not a clear coat job but they did a pretty good job. Looks much better than before. Lucky for me the body was very straight. 18 years old and its the first repaint.
Now it looks good in the daylight too!!
Bone stock 81000 miles.......

Looks like a factory paint job, nice. I can't believe how much a "good" paint job costs.

I actually had an Auto painting USA do it, one of the higher google rated body shops in the area. It was their highest level of paint before clearcoat and it has a five year guarantee. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the job one small issue that they’re going to fix on Tuesday. The hardest thing is I have to wait till the end of the month put wax on it to let the paint finish curing. With the minimal bodywork a.k.a. paint stripping they had to do I was out the door for 950. Exactly what I was figuring a decent paint job was going to cost me. They actually did a pretty good job of mixing the paint color so now the door jams and the body are pretty damn close.
Hey it’s a weekend cruiser, not a trailer queen!

I think it looks damn good for a under $1K job. Thanks for sharing the cost figure, OP never seem to want to do that.

No clearcoat? Better make sure to put several coats of wax on it once you can. Maybe even one of those ceramic coatings. You would be amazed how fast paint can go without clearcoat.

Almost 18 month old cheap paint job and still looking good. My stang lives outside about half the time under a car cover.

Very Encouraging for me seeing this. My 95 Vert is Laser Red and when I am done with the rest of the build, I am looking to get her painted. Seeing that you got it done under 1k is awesome. I believe I will be looking at a little more for mine. But DAMN yours looks really good.

So now after almost 21 years the original top will need to be replaced. Not gonna wait till its in bad shape before the replacement. Who has replaced the top and what did it cost to have a quality top professional installed? I plan on keeping her for a while and want todo it right. As of today my stang has 93500 miles and 100% stock. Think it will be around for a bit

I got one a few years back for a little over $1000, it was a top of the line top at the time. It was installed correctly by a local shop at the time, they did high end cars too. I have seen numerous nightmares from shops and individuals trying to DIY it. Shop around and get testimonials/see their work first hand.

40 months in and the paint is still looking good. I was not expecting it to hold up as well as it is

40 months since the repaint and the paint is holding up well. I have been please with how my stang still cleans up. I really didn’t expect to have it still look this good by now.
Pretty regular washings and spray wax only, outside living under a cover 75% of the time
94000 miles, factory stock

Just over 4 years since the repaint. Its starting to shows signs of wear mostly on the plastics wear the paint angle was weird. Paint still looks good but has started to show the original paint coming through. 99% of the metal still looks good. Time to start saving for the next spray.
Still bone stock, new tranny, new tires, ice cold A/C and 96700 miles.
