2000 seats in a 1970, will they fit?

They sit too high with the power tracks. If you lose the power tracks and bolt the stock 70 seat tracks to the bottom of the seat the seats mount easily enough.

If you want to use the power tracks you will need to lower the seat riser...unless you are a REALLY short dude.

I'm doing the exact same thing

But I'm cutting my seat risers where the power tracks go, creating a little frame to keep the strength, then boxing it with sheet metal, and it will only raise them up a little. Plus the seat risers are angled back, the 2000 seat tracks would need a flat surface. I'm 6' 2" so i need the height. It's not a big deal.

just like you are planning is what I did... I have a simple 1" box frame that mounts UNDER the car with carriage bolts to that bolt into the stock seat tracks of the 94+ seats. I put new pans in and didnt want seat risers due to the height issues. The brace being under the floor has its own support and uses the floorpan as reinforcement. I think its plenty strong. The seats are not going anywhere.

Anyone got pics? I'm looking for seats for a 68 coupe. I kind of want power seats (i always feel low with regular seats - in most cars - and I like to have a lot of adjust-ability in all directions not to mention lumbar). I know I'll probably need to mod the floor pan to get them in at the right height...

But beside that, I'm looking for a newer seat that will look nice. I'm leaning toward 05-07 seats now. The only thing I wish they had was the belt-catch so the belts didn't always end up way back by the pillar and out of reach...

I ripped out the seat pans and it made a lot more room. You can sorta see the seats in my 66

I will get more pics tomorrow..its raining outside

Thanks! Looks like it's gonna be a sweet ride... and yeah, I'd love to see some more pics! Do you have any idea how much taller the power seats would have been over stock buckets had you not chopped the floor?

Well, the stock seat brackets sorta mount goofy on the floor of a new mustang. I would say the distance between the bottom of the seat and the floor would be something like 3-4"...so Im gonna say a good 2" taller...then add a seat pan at 2-3". Using power tracks, you are looking at something like 5" taller. I have seen these seats on other cars with the seat pans in, and it looks like they are going to touch the roof, and thats with the stock tracks. Id pull the seat pans out
