2000 V6 Question?

I have a friend who has a 2000 3.8 v6 ...the check engine light is on and he was told its the secondary injection air pump???? I dont know these cars so is this true did anyone ever have to replace one?...How much do they go for?....I think he got a price of $250.00 does this sound right or is that a high price...thanks for any help...

It's a good idea to post the full codes. It helps to get a better picture of the problem.

Check out the following link. The part alone is $175.00. So $250 installed seams really good to me.

Sorry can't help on how hard it is to install.

My Check Engine Light has been on for at least 4 years now and only because of that code. The research that I did said that it should cost about 300 to fix it or so and the part may bad in the future again. It's used in the emissions control and I have lived with out it just fine. MN does not have very strict emissions laws though so I have not needed to get it fixed for any inspections.
