I have recently purchased a 2001 GT with a 5 speed. My question is the clutch engages about half an inch off the floor, is this normal? I was told that there is no adjustment on the clutch and that it auto adjusts. I am used to my SVO clone so this is all new to me. Is the clutch on its way out or is this in the realm of normal operation?

Pull the clutch pedal up. It has a ratchet mechanism that should help lift the pedal! :nice:

The previous owner might have put an adjustable cable or firewall adjuster on it. If so, you can adjust the engage/release point higher. If not, you can buy a quadrant and firewall adjuster and then adjust it yourself.

You also might have a broken factory quadrant. They are plastic and sometimes strip a few teeth.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into getting one when i get my Tri-Ax short throw. Nothing like spending money I don,t have :nice:
Yeah but is a "cheap fix" and you'll love the head rush you get when you install the quadrant!!!
