I have recently purchased a 2001 GT with a 5 speed. My question is the clutch engages about half an inch off the floor, is this normal? I was told that there is no adjustment on the clutch and that it auto adjusts. I am used to my SVO clone so this is all new to me. Is the clutch on its way out or is this in the realm of normal operation?

The previous owner might have put an adjustable cable or firewall adjuster on it. If so, you can adjust the engage/release point higher. If not, you can buy a quadrant and firewall adjuster and then adjust it yourself.
You also might have a broken factory quadrant. They are plastic and sometimes strip a few teeth.

those facotry quadrants suck.. if you still have it buy a aftermarket firewall adjuster and quadrant.. i have the steeda kit myself but they are all about the same. just rememeber too use the stock cable. i used the steeda one and it sucks.
